Getting your COD on: Leveraging the Conference Organizing Distribution for non-Drupal Events

While it's important for Drupal to eat it's own dog food when it comes to Drupal Camps and DrupalCons, what about using COD for non-Drupal events?

This session will show how the Delta Stewardship Council has taken a healthy dose of COD oil and leveraged COD to support the 2012 Bay-Delta Science Conference. This session will look at the trials and tribulations of modifying a distribution designed for the tech industry, to work for scientists. As part of the discussion we'll look at the diverging needs of a scientific community vs a tech community, what worked, what didn't and how we managed to pull it all together.
