OAuth: the spec, the dance, and drupal

Speaker(s):

Drupal and OAuth: What this means as a consumer and a provider.

OAuth provides several advantages both to users of products and API consumers. This talk will begin with a brief discussion of what OAuth is (and where you've already 'seen' it) and how it "works" on the web (with a focus on where to look for answers).

We will walk through distinct examples of taking a Drupal install and "wiring" up external API's (such as Twitter) such that we access those services with user's permission. After walking through "the dance" we will examine how we can use credentials to access API information on behalf of our users.

A brief overview of Drupal as a provider - demonstrating how to expose access to services (specifically the module) with OAuth permissions.
